The mission of the Parts Procurement Group is to purchase necessary parts in a timely and cost efficient manner. We provide procurement services not only to Sony plants but also to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) plants. In total, we provide our services to approximately 100 plants and purchase parts from approximately 1500 partners worldwide.
Logistics is indispensable in supply chain management and we have been developing our knowledge as a professional logistics service provider for parts procurement as well. The biggest advantage of our service is the one-stop, total solution from the purchase of parts to the distribution towards each plant's production line. In order to further strengthen our advantage, we are currently working for a more efficient, low cost and transparent parts supply system.
We have been improving the parts procurement network by establishing our own regional procurement hub worldwide. For our next step, we will be establishing a centralized order processing center to supply the necessary parts to plants worldwide under a more efficient and speedy operation scheme.
