With ISO14001 certification, we promote environmental preservation activities.
As part of GEMS, a Global Environmental Management System to which the worldwide Sony group has received a globally integrated certification, we at Sony Supply Chain Solutions have acquired the international standard of the ISO 14001 certification and we enthusiastically promote environmental preservation activities.
In the GEMS, the group attempts to develop consistent, efficient environmental protection activities by standardizing the goals, vectors and certified sections in the whole Sony group.
Currently, some of our major sites in Japan are subjected to the GEMS, and each site is conducting environmental preservation activities according to the GEMS.

We promote the effective use of Green power as part of our environmental preservation activity.
The Sony group promotes the effective use of Green power as a part of the environmental preservation activity.
Green power is a renewable energy including wind or solar generated power, biomass (organic resources made of wood, grass and other lives except fossil resources), etc, which does not generate CO2.
The domestic group companies of Sony have been engaged in the promotion of the use of Green power with the Certificate of Green Power.
The certificate proves the power generation using renewable energy. The certificate can be issued even to sites far from the power stations after they trade the green power.
We purchase 760 million Kwh of Green power every year and the other sites under the GEMS use almost 100% of green power.
We continue to use Green power in an effective manner.
[Sony Supply Chain Solution works on reducing of CO2 emissions by devising logistics solution to reduce the environmental impact of logistics.]
We have been striving for the reduction of CO2 emissions by various approaches such as devising of logistics solution, based upon Sony group's target that is aiming at reducing CO2 emissions by 14% in logistics of products by 2015.
Similarly, we are challenging another target to reduce 16% of waste materials which come from packing materials of parts by the year of 2015, by means of introduction of recyclable or reusable packing tools such as Returnable Container.
We will keep pursuing more outstanding logistics solutions with high considerations in environment.
